چکیده
Objective – to summarize the various hypotheses regarding development of Trigeminal Neuralgia with a brief discussion about causes for its co-existence Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia, which has been seen infrequently. Summary background - Cranial nerve neuralgia is one most common pain syndromes attributed extreme (extremely) detrimental effects on middle age population who are more productive. The first documentation (TN) dates back second century AD by Aretaeus Cappadocia, contemporary Galen.1 A study conducted from 1992 2002 in UK reported an incidence 26 per 100000 year.2 Its prevalent amongst (the) female ratio 1.7:1, and increases age. purpose my paper summarise all possible mechanisms that lead create update what we know it now. My would also like explore certain possibilities, according me, (are) responsible infrequent occurrence neuralgia.

Serotonin mediated cluster headache, trigeminal neuralgia, glossopharyngeal neuralgia, and superior laryngeal neuralgia with SAD chronicity.
Cluster headache is a rare and severe pain syndrome with elusive pathophysiology. Serotonin pathways within the brainstem may be implicated in cluster headache with seasonal affective disorder and a subset of cranial nerve neuralgias. We describe and chronicle a syndrome consisting of cluster headache, seasonal affective disorder, with associated trigeminal, glossopharyngeal, superior laryngeal...
متن کاملTrigeminal Neuralgia - A review
Trigeminal neuralgia is a very peculiar disease. The pain of trigeminal neuralgia, also known as “tic douloureux”, is characterized by episodic, paroxysmal, triggered pain in a distribution of 1 or more divisions of the trigeminal nerve. TN pain attacks may result from physiologic changes induced by a chronic partial injury to the brainstem trigeminal nerve root from a variety of causes. An ear...

Aim: To write a review on trigeminal neuralgia. Objective: To analyze the competence of the new trends over the old trends and decipher the advantages and disadvantages of both. Background: Trigeminal Neuralgia is a clinical syndrome characterized by brief, repetitive, extremely intense paroxysms of unilateral facial pain. The pain can be triggered by cutaneous stimuli including those resulting...

CASE This 60-year-old woman presented with an 11-year history of severe throat pain recurring approximately every couple of years lasting for about 3 months. The current episode had been present for 5 weeks, the prior episode occurred over 1 year previously. She described an electrical pain with an intensity of 10 of 10 felt in the left throat around the tonsillar area sometimes shooting to the...
متن کاملGlossopharyngeal neuralgia.
Glossopharyngeal neuralgia is a distinctive syndrome, named by Wilfred Harris. Investigation must exclude multiple sclerosis, and local compression, especially by tumours which require treatment. Dandy deserves credit for first indicating vascular compression of cranial nerve roots as a cause of cranial neuralgias, and Jannetta for establishing neurovascular decompression. Vascular compression ...
